All of the 2,9 m tall Links feature two 140 cm displays on their sides and brings free, encrypted, gigabit wireless internet coverage. As of July 2017, there are 920 Links citywide; eventually, there will be 7,500 Links installed in the New York metropolitan area. The Links are seen as a model for future city builds as part of smart city data pools and infrastructure.
